Great thoughts, Julie. Thank you for taking time to share your conviction on digital citizenship. This is of utmost importance as we move into digital classrooms. If we are asking our students to be using technology, we are responsible for teaching them how to navigate it honestly, safely, and respectfully.
Research surely is different today. I think a huge skill today is sorting through all the information and know what is reliable and what is false. We used to belive that stuff in books had to be true. But anybody can write a book or a website today.
The other part of citizenship that has me puzzled is how we should teach kids that there is stranger danger on the internet. Not even danger, but lies.... have you watched Catfish?
